Hello. I'm just here to point out a pet project of mine. A lot of the old sources of NZ Era info seem to have disappeared, so I took it upon myself to try to compile them again all in one place.

There and Back Again

I find a lot of little details like what was filmed and who was on set when, where and why, or any other known events they attended to be very useful when writing NZ Era fics, and I thought others might enjoy them as well. All info is compiled from media sources and places like TORn and AICn who seem to have spies everywhere. I am not affiliated.

The site is on Dreamwidth as I found the journal layout and tagging very useful for compiling dated content. It has taken me several months to gather up just a small bit of known details during LOTR's filming, and I am always going back to add to it as I find more, and trying to include as much factual content as possible. PLEASE NOTE, this site is nowhere near finished and will remain a WORK IN PROGRESS, as I will be compiling any info during filming of The Hobbit films as well.

Add or bookmark, and please enjoy!

As the themes for August are the arrival of the cast in NZ, first meetings, training etc, I thought this would be the perfect time to post Chapter 2 of 'A Journey With Frodo' - 'A Far Green Country'. Hope you enjoy it:)

When this comm was announced, there were more than a few of us who immediately thought that [livejournal.com profile] not_alone's exceptional chronicle, A Journey With Frodo, would be perfect in helping to take us back to those very special days a decade ago when the magic began to spin in New Zealand.

Here then is the first post from that series, with tremendous kudos to [livejournal.com profile] not_alone for her diligent work on this project.

This is an assortment of links to help get you in a New Zealand mood and spark ideas. It is by no means complete or comprehensive. If there's a site that you think has some great information, please pass it along and I'll add it to the list.

Please note that while I have visited all of these sites I can't vouch for them. Please use all suitable care (anti-virus programs and the like) when downloading anything from the Web.
